Role Purpose

To ensure campus working environment is kept to a high standard. To cover the mini bus transport services (AM).

The hours for this position are: 7:00-15:30 Mon-Fri

  • Direct report for mini bus driver to ensure services are fully covered during holidays and other absences keeping the FM updated as to any agency cover requirements.
  • To undertake all minor works on site
  • To report any issues or defects immediately to the FM management team
  • To undertake basic maintenance and repairs on site such as basic joinery, painting or light bulb changes
  • To complete the Water Risk Assessment weekly temperature checks and flushes.
  • To undertake fire door checks weekly
  • To undertake gritting in winter months
  • To attend to any emergency repair within 30 minutes and either complete or assist to prevent further damage until specialist engineer attends
  • To install any internal signage
  • To undertake internal porterage of furniture or equipment
  • Direct report for mini bus driver to ensure services are fully covered during holidays and other absences keeping the FM updated as to any agency cover requirements.
  •  Keeping an accurate record of all maintenance for the mini bus and ensuring services/works are scheduled in so a replacement hire vehicle can be booked ahead

Skills and Abilities

  • Full clean UK driving license
  • Previous handyman or similar background
  • Supervisor experience preferred but not essential
  • Working knowledge of the Health and safety regulation and other statutory regulations
  • Basic knowledge of building maintenance systems
  • Must be flexible and able to work occasional weekends – overtime payable
  • Must possess a full UK Driving License, preferably with PSV but D1 as a minimum
