Role Profile

To assist the Senior Financial Accountant with reviewing new transactions to ensure we are compliant with IFRS and our revenue recognition policy and ensure the accounting team understand the transactions and know how to process. The role will also be pivotal in the groups consolidation and audit which is complex, covers multiple countries and involves many parties.

Accountabilities

 

  • Preparation of monthly consolidated accounts and cash flow under IFRS
  • Involvement in month end close, including completion of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Posting of complex accounting transactions and ensuring appropriate documentation is maintained
  • Help develop financial position papers for important accounting transactions, for discussion and agreement with the management team and external audit
  • Drafting new disclosures for Group and entity financial statements, to reflect the impact of new accounting standards
  • Check that new transactions are in line with position papers and have been accounted for correctly
  • Implementing and updating internal process, policy and control documents

Skills and Abilities

  • Newly qualified accountant, with audit /practice background
  • Detailed accounting standards knowledge (in particular IFRS 2, 9, 10 & 15) and ability to understand and interpret standards in different practical situations
  • Hands on approach with ability to get into the detail and understand complex transactions from a commercial perspective
  • Financial Services experience desirable but not essential
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to work in an ever-changing environment
  • Inquisitive with desire to learn in a complex environment
  • Experience of NetSuite would be desirable
