Role Purpose

The role will report to the Head of Operations EMEA and US who needs an experienced professional to help drive the evolution of the group’s foreign exchange management processes, ensuring they can continue to support the rapid growth of the business. The Foreign Exchange Operations Manager will be responsible for managing all foreign exchange transactions of Greensill. This will involve working closely with other Operational teams and the treasury team to ensure all currency requirements of the business are met and exposures are hedged according to Treasury Policy. In addition to deal execution, the role will be responsible for aspects including settlement and reporting.

  • Be able to step into the daily FX dealing and settlement processes, covering activities such as:
    • Planning each days FX requirements, taking into account maturing deals and new requirements and determining the most effective execution approach
    • After ensuring required approvals are in place, execute the FX deals on the multi bank platform and export into the TMS
    • Oversee settlement with the banks, in close cooperation with the Payment Operations Team
    • Manage intercompany FX settlement, in particular maturities and new deals with Greensill Bank
  • Ensure all processes are fully documented
  • Work closely with the Treasurer on enhancements and process improvements which will be required as the group continues to expand and demands increase
  • Attend meetings with members of the Treasury Team with the Group’s FX banks so ensure maintenance of a high level of service
  • Interact effectively with the Trade Distribution team to ensure all foreign exchange requirements of the Group are understood and planned for
  • Work closely with other Operational teams and the Treasurer on ad hoc transactions where there is a material FX component that needs to be managed
  • Reporting of FX performance and metrics via utilisation of the reporting capabilities of the TMS
  • Involvement with the FX management of international subsidiaries
  • Working with the Treasurer, ensure effective hedging solutions are in place for restricted currencies (likely to involve NDF’s)
  • Assess opportunities to borrow currencies at cheaper rates by reviewing market opportunities
  • Support the Treasurer in communicating the cost of currency funding via swaps (including currency basis)

Skills and Abilities

    • Experience of a front office FX Dealing environment, having transacted FX deals before
    • As a result of experience gained, or formal qualifications, is fully competent in all principles underpinning foreign exchange markets and all products and is able to practically apply this knowledge
    • Familiar and confident in interacting with banking counterparties from a dealing perspective
    • Strong system skills and familiar with using a Treasury Management System
    • Experience of managing a team and welcomes the chance to mentor and develop talent
    • Ability to show initiative and work autonomously and efficiently under tight timeframes with a strong attention to detail
    • Excellent at developing their network, both internally and with external parties
    • Comfortable working in a highly dynamic, flat and entrepreneurial environment
    • Hands on approach with ability to get into the detail and understand complex transactions and issues
    • Willingness to work in an ever-changing and fast-paced environment


    • Treasury Qualification, AMCT or FCT
    • Accounting background
    • Middle/Back office Treasury experience relating to foreign exchange dealing
