Role Purpose

The role will be required to work on a range of internal and external datasets. The successful candidate will use everything available in the data science toolkit to design solutions to either maximise profitability or automate existing processes through the development and deployment of codes and/or algorithms.

  • To analyse internal and external business data to provide insight to the business teams
  • To use machine learning tools and statistical techniques to design and develop solutions to business problems
  • To develop new products and pricing models
  • To help understand and identify new opportunities within the business and develop solutions using data science
  • To work in a team to solve real life problems with a big impact on the bottom line
  • To develop, assist implementation and maintain internal applications built in Python or other languages
  • To assist with the building of the Greensill data estate

Skills and Abilities

  • A degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Quantitative Finance, Computational Finance, Data Science, etc., with exposure to statistics
  • Knowledge of Python, including Python’s ML suite (Scikit-Learn, Pandas, NumPy, etc.)
  • Knowledge in at least one of the following: SQL, SAS, R
  • Knowledge of stats/ML techniques (both supervised and unsupervised)
  • Naturally curious with an analytical, data driven mindset
  • The desire to work with colleagues across the business to solve problems and get the best results for our clients
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Enjoys finding innovative ways to solve problems, focused on getting to the root of an issue
  • High degree of personal integrity, honesty and professionalism
  • Thrives in a fast-paced demanding environment
  • Can-do mindset and self-motivated
  • Passion about chosen area of functional specialism and desire to learn
