Accountabilities

  • Configuring and implementing intrusion detection systems and firewalls.
  • Maintaining firewalls, virtual private networks, web protocols, and email security.
  • Creating threat detection systems.
  • Configuring and installing network security infrastructure devices.
  • Investigating intrusion and hacking incidents, collecting incident responses, and carrying out forensic investigations.
  • Using industry-standard analysis criteria to test the security level of the firm.
  • Developing tracking documents to note system vulnerabilities.
  • Supervising the configuration and installation of new software and hardware.
  • Implementing regulatory systems in accordance with IT security.
  • Modifying the technical, legal, and regulatory aspects of the system security.
  • Defining and maintaining security policies.

Skills and Abilities

  • AD / GPO / DNS / DHCP / WINS
  • Firewalls – Management and deployment, ideally WatchGuard and FortiGate
  • Extensive experience in support of network development and maintenance, both LAN and WAN
  • BSc Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience is required.
  • 3+ years of experience or knowledge with root level access to network devices
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of SIM/SEIM tools
  • Experience in event log analysis, network traffic packet capture and associated tools
  • Strong understanding of networking and security technologies and configuration (routers, switches, firewalls, IDS/IPS, DDoS, VPN, end-point devices)
  • Deep functional experience with TCP/IP, DNS and related protocols
  • Transitional exposure to modern as a service-based technologies and platforms.
  • Experience with current best practices in IT standards, principles, and security practices.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills to relate to various levels of users and relate their needs to other personnel. Must be able to express technical idiom in an unambiguous manner.
  • Ability to succeed in a collaborative team environment of other IT professionals to meet aggressive goals and high-quality standards.
  • Demonstrated analysis skills to ensure that solutions solve business problems and appropriate technology is utilized.
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn new technologies, tools, and applications related to role.
  • Creative approach to problem solving.
