Role Purpose

Greensill is the market-leading provider of working capital finance for companies globally. We have a range of financial products in the sector of Trade Finance. Greensill is seeking London-based product managers to design, develop, position and market our specialist Trade Finance products and platforms. The role will focus on expanding the group’s geographic footprint to deploy our core products (including Supply Chain Finance, Accounts Receivable Finance and other working capital solutions). You will participate in the creation, development and deployment of these products into new markets and be responsible for their ultimate delivery to clients and the organisation’s success in building sales & customer solutions in those markets.

Accountabilities

  • Help design and develop products for our new markets
  • Work through all matters of the solution including origination, legal, regulatory, risk & compliance, distribution, operations, technology & partnering, currencies/payments (& others)
  • Design and adjust products to accommodate specific local practices including local legal requirements and regulatory implications such as data controls, enforcement, cross-border marketing, licencing
  • Contribute towards necessary steps to market rollout including incorporation, appointment of required local functions such as finance & audit, implementation of banking relationships (as it extends to product function)
  • Subject matter expert for the countries, markets and products in your portfolio
  • Manage the rollout of the capability and market presence to timelines, factoring in the numerous stakeholders inside and outside of Greensill
  • Develop collateral for regulators, work with functional teams to build and develop new businesses across the portfolio of markets
  • Be responsible and take ownership for deliverables which may be outside your normal areas of expertise
  • Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates Greensill products and features by understanding customer needs in the local market.
  • Prioritise the product roadmap accordingly to maximise impact within the timeline
  • Sales Enablement – equip the sales team with an appropriate understanding of the product’s operation in the market
  • Solve problems for our customers, and differentiate our products from other markets, vendors or competitors
  • Market intelligence – be the expert on our corporate client buyers, how they buy and their buying criteria; be the expert on our competition and how to win
  • Develop a range of customer testimonials for external/internal use, including written case studies

Skills and Abilities

  • Relevant expertise in the suite of Trade Finance products including Supply Chain Finance, Accounts Receivables Finance, Inventory finance
  • Experience of working in a team delivering a new product, new market or new business line
  • Product management experience including structuring, legal negotiation, functional delivery of new processes (for example new operations processes). Such experience could be as part of a sales or product function but has led to new customer transactions
  • Experience in both sales and product within a finance organization would be ideal
  • Thorough understanding of the components making up a product offering for corporate clients, i.e. Legal, Risk, Compliance, Technology, Operations
  • Track record of successfully launching technically complex products, markets or transactions
  • Strong communication and messaging skills; able to craft clear and simple messages for a range of stakeholders, internal and external
  • Experience of working with a regulator or with internal/external audit would be ideal
  • Able to manage functional teams across the organistion to deliver solutions
  • Works well with others, impactful, influencing without reporting lines
  • Creative thinker – Can think strategically and tactically: for example, finding short-term solutions to immediate problems and long-term solutions to manage the end-state objectives of the project or programme
  • Independent operator – Someone who delivers under own steam, rolls sleeves up, performs a number of functions, must adapt to new situations and deliverables which may be completely novel
  • Ability to master subject matter in detail
  • Communication skills including conversation, listening, writing, editing
  • Sticks to deadlines, manages stakeholders, reports and escalates appropriately, keeping in mind the team objectives and deliverables, which may require working at speed
  • Integrity, honesty and professionalism
  • Ideally a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a significant amount of related work experience
