Accountabilities

  • Lead, manage and deliver Engineering projects through Development teams
  • Organise, coordinate and prioritise project delivery by agreeing activities and timescales, ensuring teams know what is expected
  • Ensure that processes are managed in a controlled environment, reducing error rates
  • Develop relationships across the business, understanding what internal customers need from the Engineering team and working towards delivering a high level of service
  • Actively manage upwards to ensure the Head of Engineering is aware of ongoing issues, risks and opportunities
  • Develop and coach Development Managers to improve leadership skills and build an effective leadership team
  • Seek opportunities to improve current processes to deliver enhanced performance
  • Step up to cover for the Head of Engineering as and when required

Skills and Abilities

  • Experienced people manager, demonstrating competence in managing multiple teams with diverse priorities
  • Effective project manager, building relationships with stakeholders and capturing/managing to business requirements
  • Able to write software
  • Experience with core AWS infrastructure
  • Flexible, adaptable and able to deal with ambiguity
  • Thrives leading and working in a collaborative team working environment
  • Enjoys working at pace
  • Customer centric mindset with a can-do attitude
  • High degree of personal integrity, honesty and professionalism
