Role Purpose

Responsible for the country franchise on a sustainable basis, ensuring adherence to the regulatory requirements of the organization as well as income and growth. Lead and manage the new business in Abu Dhabi, integrating and implementing the agreed Greensill global strategy

Accountabilities

  • Build a reputable, profitable client business for Greensill in Abu Dhabi
  • Develop and forecast the business plan for the Abu Dhabi office in accordance with the group’s objectives
  • Manage the growth of the business, supporting onshore and offshore capabilities for our clients and as required under the business plan
  • Ensure that appropriate local structures are in place to provide effective governance and legal and regulatory compliance of the local entity
  • Develop an onshore team in accordance with the business plan to the extent required by the business and regulatory requirements
  • In partnership with the origination teams, provide strategic direction and roadmap for origination activities
  • Be responsible for the ongoing growth of the entity
  • Engage with customers and manage client relationships together with origination teams
  • Develop local products and partnerships to support the business plan
  • Drive a culture of strong risk management and compliance in line with group risk appetite. Reinforce the message that front-line teams are the first line of defence
  • Build strong regulatory relationships, engaging openly and honestly with regulators
  • Ensure strong focus in country with respect to meeting all compliance and other regulatory requirements set out by the ADGM
  • Maintain constant awareness of the external and internal competitive landscape, customer base, markets, and new industry developments
  • Ensure alignment of local entity’s activities with global and regional practices and strategies while considering local market requirements, including KYC, AML, operational risk management
  • Manage the cost centre within agreed budgets
  • Cooperate with the global teams in all functions, including origination, product, legal, HR, technology and operations
  • Represent Greensill in partnership with the marketing and public relations teams

Skills and Abilities

  • Significant relevant experience in an international banking or trade finance position
  • Significant experience dealing with regulatory bodies, central banks and other relevant government entities
  • Strong understanding of risk management (including credit)
  • Experience in managing teams
  • Significant in-country experience in UAE
  • Ability to generate leads and revenue in a similar financial services environment
  • Strong client relationship skills
  • Strong leadership skills, experience in attracting talent and building teams
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and across multiple time zones
  • Flexible, adaptable, enjoys working at pace, resilient
  • Customer-centric mindset with a can-do attitude
  • High degree of personal integrity, honesty and professionalism
